These five online resources are suitable for secondary school students in most cases if utilized correctly.

This is a free online word processor which also allows you to export your work into PDF format. If you want to. This online software is easy to use and navigate around it has all the usual formatting. That one would expect when writing a blog, email, or creating an assignment for school.

Letter space also has a spell checker which saves time editing your work later. Students can create personal websites using Letter space. In the classroom, students could use this to create any content. Which is related to a topic that they are currently studying.

Spell for Mac 

This spelling and grammar checker works in real-time as you type. It will highlight potential spelling mistakes with a wavy red underline. Misspelled words can be right-clicked on. And replaced with the correct spelling.

As well as a spell-checker there is also a grammar mistake finder that highlights any possible grammatical errors. In the classroom, this desktop software could be used to carry out a quick spell check of a piece of work before handing it in for marking.

Stupeflix Studio 

This free online tool is a video maker which allows users to create videos from photos, images, and music at the click of a button. You can also add text captions to your media files if you wish. Once a video has been created. It can be exported to a wide range of formats depending on what you want to do with it.

This tool could be used in the classroom so students can produce short videos whether they are creating a video essay or working within groups to create some visual content for an assessment task.

This free online mind mapping tool is a great way for students to brainstorm ideas before they start work on an assignment, they can also use it as a revision aid after studying a topic. In the classroom, students could use this as part of their research process or as a revision tool.

Teachers could even give students some time at the beginning or end of a lesson to use this resource when they have been learning about a topic.

This is another free online tool and it is similar to Popplet Lite but has slightly different features, for example, it allows you to choose the background color and style of your mind map. 

As you can see there are many different kinds of tools that students can use to help them create artistic content. Artists can create new types of art with these tools, whether it is creating a short film or designing an entire video game.

There are also non-artistic uses for these types of tools. They may be used in the fields of science, engineering, religion, etc. This resource could be used in the classroom to create mind maps of topics being studied.

This is another free online tool that can be used for brainstorming before creating an assignment. The best feature about this one is that it allows you to share your mind map with other users.   This means that students could potentially share their mind maps with the class or teachers.

In the classroom, this would be an effective way of generating ideas when creating content for an assignment.

This is a free online tool that has over 8 million users, it offers flashcards, quizzes, and games for students to use as revision aids. In the classroom, students could use this website as a revising tool before they sit an exam or complete an assignment.

Dropbox 

This is a free online tool that allows you to create public links so other users can view your files, it also lets you share them with specific people, Dropbox also allows you to view documents, presentations, and spreadsheets.

In the classroom, this could be used as an alternative way of students submitting work, rather than uploading it onto Moodle or Google Classroom it can now go straight into Dropbox.

YouTube 

This free online tool is the world’s largest video-sharing website, teachers could set their students. A YouTube video to watch as part of their homework so they can discuss it in class the following day.

Teachers could also use this to find educational videos that are related to topics being studied by students. Or they can create short clips for students to view at home
